We Thought You’d Want to Know…

Question: Are all vinyl sheets of camouflage the same?

Absolutely not!! Every brand of “camo” on the market today must be evaluated on six (6) key points:

(1) The pressure sensitive adhesive back vinyl. This is the product that actually sticks to your truck, trailer, boat or other application.

½ begins with 3M Controltac™ vinyl that the Comply™ feature. This is the same type of material that is used on NASCAR and other commercial fleet graphics. Other brands may be cheaper…but nothing comes to the table with more science or field performance.

(2) The Printing. Overwraps began as a screen printed product about sixteen (16) years ago. In those days, the old screen printed technology was really the only choice. But like most things, technology, color management and outdoor durability have simply taken the printing industry to a new level.

For the last eight (8) years, ½ have been digitally printed with solvent ink based technology. Bolder colors, details and resolution are far beyond the old technology. The inks are designed specifically for outdoor applications. Perhaps this is why the screen print marketplace has fallen behind large format digital printing in so many commercial applications.

For the record, unlike many, all of our camouflage patterns are tested, approved and certified by the namesake camouflage licenser. Close isn’t good enough. Our patterns are always on target and always approved.

(3) The Clear Laminate. Screen printed products typically apply a last coat of clear laminate to their product. This laminate is supposed to give added protection from the elements. These coatings are typically applied at about ½ mil thick. If they try to go any thicker, the screen printed process can produce “uneven” or “spotty coverage.

Ironically, even some digital printers try to save money and put a screen printed clear coat on their prints. But at ½, our accent stripes and sheeted camouflage are all protected with a 2 ½ mil thick clear laminate (gloss on accent stripes and matte finish on sheets). This is a rolled laminate applied with heat and pressure. The rolled laminate is factory made to provide absolutely even and consistent coverage. Our laminate is almost five (5) times thicker than most liquid laminates.

The Results: Enhanced protection from in the field abrasion. You also get more resistance to gasoline spills around the gas tank and more resistance to UV fading. 2 ½ mils of rolled laminate or ½ mil of liquid coating…you’re right, it’s not even close.

And now for the other benefit. The rolled laminate also helps to make installation application even easier.

(4) Quality Production. ½ are printed and fabricated in one of the most noted commercial graphics facilities in the country. The facility has more than fifty (50) years of experience.

Oh, by the way, this major digital printing facility has full screen printing capabilities. They could do it that way…they simply won’t. Why do it the old way when the right way makes better product for this kind of application.

(5) Price. Investing in more expensive materials, higher quality and more experience and yet, you pay a little and even sometimes less…to get the best…it is amazing what efficiencies can be gained in highly experienced, state of the art facilities.

(6) Service. Over 98% of our orders ship the same day. These orders ship complete and arrive on time.

These are six (6) reasons to buy the best. Why compromise. It’s true that a couple of our competitors came out first (although we have been doing this for sixteen (16) years) and they are still doing it the same way. It’s expensive to invest in new technology and it’s expensive to use only the best materials…so here’s how we do it.

We live on smaller profit margins and we do well because more of you buy from us than the rest of the others combined. Over the years, you have been loyal to us and we are committed to giving you only the best.

Now that’s Value!!
